Paintings: Old & Modern Master Copies

Why Copy a Painting

Collectors  have paintings copied for a variety of reasons. Chief among them are they want to store the original in a secure place, or, they want a copy in a second residence. Others simply want to have a painting they would never otherwise be able to obtain, or want a painting in the style of a particular artist, or have a family painting they want shared among siblings and relatives.

Nicastri & Tan

I often partner with Laura Tan if a job involves several paintings to be done within a particular time frame or if the painting is very complex and is extremely labor intensive. Other works by, Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (Raphael), Vincent Van Gogh, Eugene Boudin, Alfred Sisley, Gustave Caillebotte, Kees Van Dongen, Pablo Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosequist, and Basquiat have also been copied but due to commission contract restricitons these pieces cannot be represented here. The original artist and myself as the copyist are named on the rear of all copies.
